Hi All could you please help with a SIMPLE and EASY way to get still pictures from a Windows Media Player clip. The on topic part is that I need to get a picture from a video clip for the Border Landrover Calendar.

Thanks
Groetnis

The quickest way – and the one with the least quality – is to take a screenshot. Make the player full screen, navigate to the frame you want and press Alt-PrtScrn. Paste the picture into a photo editor, crop if necessary and save as BMP if you don’t want to lose further quality. Otherwise save as JPG, setting JPG quality to highest available.

The best way is to extract the frame with a video editor or frame server. Shout if you want to try that route, but not for the faint-hearted ;-).

The best compromise is to use a player that can directly export the current frame. http://mpc-hc.org/ can do that: File -> Save Image.

Cheers,

Francois

Gys,

I normally use the VLC player (Free). Plays any format and has a snapshot feature to take 'snapshots' from video. VLC also runs on Android
