Folks - please find Daniel Swart's details attached. Please give him a call if he can assist with any 4x4/camping products or services when you are in his neck of the woods. Daniel recently went way beyond the call of duty to assist Attie in the Kgalagadi with a broken spring ! Great service ! Please support Daniel's business. Keep hiss number handy when you travel through the Kgalagadi in the event of a vehicle related emergency...

Regards

Hennie

I can confirm - best service I've had in a looooong time. They really went out of their way to assist.

I'm expecting a warranty reimbursement from Ironman today for the broken spring. No quibbles, no delays. Another company I now have some faith in....

Hennie, must say the most fantastic people lives in Upington: - in 2010 on my way to Namibia, my dual battery system gave problems. despite being at seven at night on a Saturday, the owner of Midas opened his shop and assisted us. In 2012 similar thing but with a medical emergency, a doctor opened her surgery at eight to assist us.  These was organised by just talking to some of the locals.  Whenever we go that way, we make a point to stop over and spend some time and money in this community

Must say I find this nice attitude in most small towns. When some one I know had several problems with an overheating vehicle on the way to Kgalagadi a few years ago, several stops were made in small towns and at every town there was someone willing to try help.

I must also mention Kallies Panelbeaters who after we lost a back wheel on the way to Kgalagadi, took hold of the car, gave us a very comfortable room in his house, breakfast the next morning, joined a braai with us where his wife brought the most delicious food and supplied us with a new courtesy car filled with petrol.  We used it until our car was on the road again and the he crapped me out because I filled the car again with petrol.
Kallie was also the guy who fixed a Toyota that broke its chassis in the dunes a few years ago.

Then a bout a year later, KGB Brake and Clutch also gave us very good and friendly service when we needed a new clutch, wheel bearings and several smaller things.

If your car breaks, pray it will be in Upington.

It looks like the Northern towns are similar. We had the most astounding aid in Springbok.

Furd blown cyl head on the way to Angola.

Obviously the dealer had no indoctrination from the dealers in the bigger cities, because he REALLY cared!

Yes Hannes - an old guy at the bar at Oranje ower where we overnighted oveheard me speaking to the owner, told me to hold on and then send us to Midas also telling us that it is the biggest in SA.  We landed up at a store that was not bigger than a Vodacom outlet. After a half an hour the guy phoned and told us that we need to go further down the street - must say it was the biggest Midas I ever saw!

Very nice guy, he recognised me two years later as "the guy with the power problem".  Nice to be greeted like that!
