Hi Bruce
Got the same info via a link on Mike Slater's Facebook page, verbatim (even the misspelling of knives)
My gut tells me its probably not related to the recent Renamo activity, but you never know.

Yep sorry to be able to confirm that the incident happened as stated in the twitter report. Word on my facebook page (mozguide.com down due to serious PHP and Joomla upgrade issues) from one of the victims was that the generator a Casa Lisa stops at 10pm and then the group estimated at 20 went to every chalet and demanded money, valuables etc The tweet says police no-show but Nigel Hallows of Blue Anchor next door to Casa Lisa (no affected - better security and mains electricity) posted that the police did arrive and had provided guards for Casa Lisa.
NOT a peep in the mainstream media whether Moz or SA so far that I know of.

Worrying indeed.
Returned from Manica last Wednesday, and the locals report at least two incidents of contact where between 15 and 30 govt soldiers were killed, but local reporting is very quiet.
Cheers

Yes Moz journals receive death threats when reporting stuff the govt would rather hide. Similar situation brewing in SA in addition to the "Secrecy Bill"

Yes guys,
That's true. Just arrive from Chidenguele...very rainy day here in
Maputo.
Before I have a "pit Stop" at Shell Ultra-City in the main Road near
Casa Lisa. Those guys confirm the story.
Was 10 to 12bandits did the attack / assault to casa Lisa. No news in
local news papers...
Not good news for the foreign investments special in tourism
facilities, like lodges, Hotels B&B...etc
Cheers
