Interesting question.Handguns are illegal in Botswana and legal in Zimbabwe. Hunters cross quite often, there are processes for that.I would be very interested to hear the reply to this..

I had to deposit my firearm with SAPS at the border when entering Lesotho. It badly complicated logistics because I wasn’t planning on returning the same way.
This was admittedly in 2000 so unsure whether things are still the same. For future trips I simplified things by getting rid of the firearm ;-).

You are not allowed to take an firearm into Lesotho, that being self-defence weapon as Pistol or Revolver.
Hunting Rifles you may take across most of the borders, you have to export permit from your DFO 30 days before you cross the border. I have never heard anybody taking a rifle to Lesotho though and I know they are not allowed to possess any firearms.
