So the problem with Syria and Libya and not being able to enter into Africa through any of the normal routes. I have had contact with a gentleman who says that a RoRo service between Mersin or Istanbul (Turkey) to Alexandria or Port Said (Egypt) will start on approximately the 13th March. This is the information that maybe useful to you.

I think the best option would be to take a RoRo vessel (which also allows passengers). On 13 March a RoRo will depart from Mersin to Alexandria; it costs about EUR 835 (excluding custom charges) (this information I got from selinbrag...@makzume.com.tr). Another RoRo service is expected (agent: Atako), but delayed already and not expected to start soon.

The Visemar line seems not to exist anymore, the URL has been terminated.
