Road condition Midrand to Hoedspruit

Hi guys, I will be travelling from Midrand to Hoedspruit later this week and am trying to decide which is the less bad road: from Middelburg via Roossenekal and Burgersfort, or from Middelburg via Machadodorp and Lydenburg?

Definitely not the Lydenburg route. Why not Magoebaskloof ?

Belfast-Dullstroom-Lydenburg-Ohrigstad-Hoedspruit is my weekly trek.

Between Dullstroom and Ohrigstad plenty potholes - if you go slow it will be fine. Waze shows some of the p holes.

Scenic as you now.

Definitely not for night driving.

If you go N1 Midrand_Polokwane-Magoebas -- better, but longer and more tollgates. Also Gravelotte to Mica section has some stop goes and huge craters with sections completely washed away and heavy truck traffic (as Hoedspruit-Phalaborwa road closed to trucks). Again, if you go slow and not in a hurry it will be good and its only about 30km of hell.

Come say howzit in Hoedspruit ;)

My in-laws farm near Ohrigstad and I have been driving that Belfast- Dullstroom-Lydenburg- Ohrigstad road for more than 25 years. We drove it now over the 1 May long weekend and I can tell you, it is the worst I've ever seen it. That is after it was resurfaced not 6 months ago.

Do able, but not at speed and certainly not at night. The biggest issue is that many of the potholes are deep and the edges are pretty sharp and steep.
