It was nearly a year again that we embarked on our adventure and yesterday my Daughter (11 years old) posted onto our blog for the first time in many months.
She did this out of the blue and I didn’t even know till I got a notification of a new comment.

All I can say is I miss it too but should be on the road in December to Zim for a few weeks. Looking forward to it and the heat. Will be asking questions closer to the time J

Any idea where I can purchase a similar set of 4 replacement hinges for my table. Hi Mike
Problem is one of the hinges rusted and when the table was opened the slide folded over on itself.

So, take the ‘bent’ bit, straighten it, then make up a drawing depicting the exact dimensions etc.
Head for a local metal’s shop.
It looks like it is made from standard parts, so a bit of drilling, grinding and cutting should sort it out with a new one.

That I could do myself with a bit of patience but it is easier to drill out 4 pop rivits per hinge and replace.
Will try ALUCAB as the roof rack under which the tables slide into was made by them
Thank

Can also maybe try and look at aluminium window hinge/arm as an alternative? Not sure if it will be strong enough though? I seem to recall that they look very similar.
