Mnozil Brass is an Austrian brass septet. They play classical, jazz and other styles of music using traditional brass instruments and more unusual instruments such as the customized rotary valved trumpet and bass trumpet. Music is presented with a typical Austrian style of humour, which can be approximately characterized as "jet black" and "here and there" absurd.[1] Elements of slapstick exist next to virtuosic brass playing. They are often popularly referred to as "The Monty Python of the musical world".[2] Austrian and German schlager songs of the 20th century are often caricatured.
All the founding members are graduates of the renowned Vienna College of Music, who met while playing at the Mnozil pub in Vienna's first inner-city district. The band was founded in 1992 although its first official outing was in 1993.
Former member Sebastian Fuchsberger was a great talent in imitating, for example, Johannes Heesters and Udo Jrgens. Mnozil Brass is able to convince the audience that playing music is not just serious business.[citation needed]
The septet cooperates with freelance director Bernd Jeschek who developed the stage programs "Smoke", "Ragazzi" and "Seven"[3] and the "first operetta of the 21st century" titled "Das Trojanische Boot" ("The Trojan Boat"), whose world premiere was in 2005 during the German art festival RuhrTriennale.
Mnozil has a wide repertoire. Their two-hour-long concerts feature the group playing all manners of music, always without sheet music, along with comedic antics and sketchlike parts. While the majority of items feature the band playing their brass instruments, they incorporate other instruments such as the recorder, as well as singing ("Bohemian Rhapsody" being a key example).[4][5]

And then the last member of the group, trumpeter Roman Rindberger, comes out and removes the chair from underneath Paul. The performance continues seamlessly while Rindberger parades around like a triumphant magician. Of course, his is the easiest part, strutting and looking (a bit) graceful.
But it works. It all works. Take it as an allegory about how people performing music become a single interconnected being, albeit one distributed across several physically distinct bodies. And the audience is (just) an extension of that being.
It opens with a fanfare very much in the heroic brass mold. And then it goes all to hell. First there's a trombonist playing Stevie Wonder. That's Zoltan Kiss, from Hungary, strutting and prancing around the stage. An absolute monster of a player.
The original site was designed by S. Abbas Raza in 2004 but soon completely redesigned by Mikko Hyppnen and deployed by Henrik Rydberg. It was later upgraded extensively by Dan Balis in 2006. The next major revision was designed by S. Abbas Raza, building upon the earlier look, and coded by Dumky de Wilde in 2013. And this current version 5.0 has been designed and deployed by Dumky de Wilde in collaboration with S. Abbas Raza.

The trombone is able to produce an elegant sound that fills the room. This instrument would be right at home in a school or community band, chamber ensemble, pit orchestra for musicals, or as a soloist's instrument. It is even suitable for a jazz band.
The Mnozil Brass Model trombone responds nicely - especially for an intermediate horn (much better than expected). The instrument blows evenly and has a comfortable feedback from the horn to the player which made centering notes relatively free from extraneous effort. The F-attachment rotor has a nice, comfortable throw making the shift from the "open" trombone to the f-attachment with ease. The tone of the F-attachment is very close to the open trombone, making it very easy to go between notes and notes using the rotor in a seamless fashion. In short, the trombone is an easy instrument to pick up and immediately enjoy playing.
The Mnozil Brass Model trombone comes with a mouthpiece marked "Mnozil Brass" that is close to a Bach 6 1/2 AL. After testing the trombone out with different mouthpieces the mouthpiece that comes with it is is nice, but sounded a little bright.
