Ensign Sissons: The Unexpected Mission (tag: Velana, Kors, Kovis)

(Main Infirmary, Outpost Eden)

: Diego looked to be in immense pain. Karina feared he was becoming delirious:

Sissons: Do you know where you are?

Herrera: Dexalin...  :He gasped:  Dex...

: Karina grabbed the nearest vial of Dexalin. His symptoms were presenting much more rapidly now (perhaps the distractions had hidden his true state); it seemed as though the trials were off the table. She returned quickly to the table and administered the drug, but not quickly enough to stop him from passing out. Karina stood by anxiously until his vital signs regulated. A minute later his eyes fluttered open and he took a deep breath:

Herrera:  What...happened?

Sissons:  You passed out, admiral :she smiled, relieved to hear him speak:

Herrera:  How long?

Sissons:  Just for a few minutes. The Dexalin appears to have settled the pain, for now. You must rest and allow the treatment to do it's job.

Herrera:  Thank you. : he smiled weakly. He clearly had no intention of 'switching off'. He was an admiral through and through. Karina gently touched his arm as she went to walk away, however two figures caught both of their eyes: Velena and Doctor Kors:

Herrera: Remember your promise... :Diego gave her a pointed look before closing his eyes:

Velana:  How is he, Ensign? 

Sissons:  Commander :she acknowledged Velana with a nod: He has been receiving the correct treatment and is breathing easier. :Velena seemed pleased with her answer and smiled lovingly at Herrera:

Velana: I trust you're a being a good patient?

Herrera:  Of course, querida. 

:Karina noticed Velana's hand shake slightly. She sensed something akin to anxiety, but not quite:    

Velana:  :Well, I hate to do this, but I need Sissons with me.  We're going down to the surface.  We're going to find the source of this thing and a way to cure it. 

Herrera:  I have no doubt.

Velana:  We just need tricorders and phasers, in case we run into anything...or anyone unexpected.

Sissons: Who shall I pass the care of Admiral Herrera on to, Commander?

Velana: ?

Sissons: Understood :she quickly updated the PADD with Diego's notes:

Velana: ?

Sissons: I'm ready for instruction :Karina did not betray her surprise at the latest order to beam down. What was needed was calm and responsive medical personnel:

Kors/Kovis: ?

Velana:  All right.  Computer...four to beam directly to the terraforming camp. 

Kors/Kovis: ?

:Karina closed her eyes her atoms were displaced and rearranged in their new location. She quickly stood to attention and held out her phaser: ready for action:
