UpdateI attempted again to get onto the PMDG forum, and I once again received the message that the OP displayed above. There was no forum to be seen. I then signed OUT of my PMDG account and, suddenly, the forum appeared as it should. I signed back into my PMDG account, and the forum disappeared again. I could not possibly have violated forum rules, since I've never posted anything on their site in my life. I registered my account only about 48 hours ago when I bought the 737. What's going on? I can't get on the PMDG forum to solve the problem because it won't let me see the forum while I'm signed into my account! I wonder whether this problem might be a holdover effect from the server overloads they suffered upon release -- which is exactly when I signed up for the forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This doesn't really seem like an MSFS related topic or anything that anyone not affiliated with PMDG can help with. It appears to be some sort of message board/forum issue. I'm assuming both @ryanbatc and @David Mills have submitted a ticket here Their support has always been very receptive with any issue that I've had. For what it is worth I just was able to successfully log into an account that I hadn't logged into for years over there.

@ryanbatc: Did you ever get access to the PMDG forum? I wrote to them about a week ago about my own identical issue and never received a response. Again, my problem, oddly, is that I can access the forum when I'm signed OUT of my account. But I can't access the forum -- I can't even see it nor any articles or blogs -- when I'm signed IN to my account. Like you, the site tells me I'm not authorized. I'm not even sure the message I sent them, while signed IN to my account, was even transmitted to them successfully. I've never posted a single message in my life on their site, much less anything objectionable, so I know I'm not being deliberately blocked for rule violations. I signed up during the period when their servers were overloaded. So I'm wondering whether my registration was perhaps corrupted. My download of the actual 737 went flawlessly. And I love the plane! I just can't get access to their educational materials.

I'm able to sign in okay. The site recognizes my account. It recognizes my purchase of the 737. I could download it again if needed. But the moment I sign in, I get the screen posted by @ryanbatc at the top of this thread. The forum and all the blogs and articles suddenly become invisible. I'm not even sure my request for help is being sent properly. I received no "sent" confirmation and have received no message from PMDG after a week (when I know their support is outstanding).

First name, I can understand. Full name is just... yeah, a little too much. I completely understand that PMDG want to take measures to reduce piracy, and create a friendly personal atmosphere in their support forum, but Avsim is just as susceptible to Google-botting as any other website. Over and over again we're told to keep personal information off the internet in an unsecured form, but the policy there is antithetical to this. I don't own a license to any of their products, so I have no need to post there looking for support, but I AM giving consideration to the 37NGX if it ever gets released. I'd hate to think I'd be denied support just because I'd refuse to post my full first and last name. -Jon

Well I could google my fellow PMDG forumites, but I'd rather not out of respect for their private lives. If I were a Peeping Tom I betcha I could find some of their facebook/myspace/MSN/whatever accounts, any articles they're in in their local papers, pictures, adresses, e-mails, phone numbers, perhaps their blogs and maybe even their vacation plans so I can break into their houses when they're away. And those are just the most obvious things. With that knowledge I can forward or sell that info to spam makers, or I can make my own spam or scam perhaps posing as a PMDG employee asking them to re-register their credit cards on the "pmdg.free.noname.com" website I registered via some obscure ISP. Easy money, and I bet some, and even so many that it'd be worth it, would take the bait.I won't. But I'm not so naive that I don't think that someone might. Being safe online isn't about seeing conspiracies everywhere, but it's about not giving out too much information to everyone who wants it. There are plenty of scams around. I'm afraid that some, maybe even most, aren't as moral about this stuff as most here on Avsim are. You don't even have to be an Avsim member to gain access to the PMDG forums. So posting one's name there is open for everyone to see. And that should be a bit spooky for us all.

I can see your point, as I'm sure most upgoing people can. Closed social networks like Facebook and such aren't the issue here, if you google me you can probably not figure out anything more sinister than my few public appearances in papers etc, my adress, e-mail and phone number. Most people won't know what to do with that information. But I'm pretty sure that someone out there has the digital competance to profit from it. I wasn't born yesterday either, so I don't think I'd fall for any viruses sent to me, or any scams or anything like that, because I'm very sceptical by nature. But I don't think that applies to the general public. I bet you can find tons of cases where information like this has been misused. Closest example to our virtual home would be the Avsim hacker(s) selling e-mail lists to spam companies. Anyway, my point is signing your full name on a public forum on the net is a bad idea. ://www.wikihow.com/Be-Safe-on-the-Internetand all the other sources I dug up after a .5 second search. It seems that most people "in the know" if you take most available sources for granted, or if you assume that a vast majority would make an assumption correct, agree with this. Please find other examples if you don't automatically take those sources's word for it, you'll probably find out that most sources agree with the general idea. Also it wouldn't be an issue if the forum was closed. This is open for all to see. I'm just asking if it really is such a good idea, and why PMDG insists on keeping it that way? Surely there are less intrusive ways of keeping a support forum both approximately civilized and pirate-free?

Hello everyone,

I was browsing the PMDG forums recently, and there were a lot of mentions of a PMDG 757 which people had apparently bought, and started using -- When was this? Is there a PMDG 757? I went to the pmdg website, but didn't see any mention of it. Any ideas?

hi to you all.It is my birthday in a few weeks and my parents said i could have two addons for FS9. I was thinking of the A340 Pro and a 737. There is the PMDG and pilot in command, and i was wondering which one is better. I have the PMDG 747 and am v...

Hi, ive been ignored alot on a few other sites for this request.I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to repaint both the quality wings 757-200W and 757-300W in the default Orbit Airlines livery from fsx. im not bothered about what engine type you us...

So i'm close to being rated for 757/767's at UVA, and I was wondering what 757 you've logged your hundreds of hours in FEM? I've spent so much time in the PMDG/PIC aircraft that to fly just a basic model again to me would be a sin!...

Hi,I'd like to request a repaint of PMDG's MD-11 in a fictional Thomson Airways livery, mainly because I'd like to fly charter routes that the 767 or 757 usually flies.A reply would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks,Oliver Soanes...

Aside from the real-world stuff and other flightsim things, I have been busy with another major project of mine. This is Boeing 737NG and Boeing 777 accurate aircraft cockpit configs for PMDG and iFly models. I have been doing this since 2015 in personal purposes, and for the Ukrainian flightsim community since 2017.

Now, with the experience, deep research and understanding, I decided to do all the airline operators of the world in order to increase the quality of flight simming.

Many popular airlines like Ryanair, Emirates, Norwegian are already done with many more to come. Please note that the fleet list is valid as at the revision date. I'll try to keep it up-to-date as much as possible.

Please read the installation and use the manual for more details.

Okay, so basically, what we can expect when using your configs: we can rely on the public stuff being researched thoroughly and correctly (photos, videos, maybe PMDG forum entries like the one about the Qantas 738) - which is great cause it is such tedious and painstaking work

- in conclusion I can say you're doing awesome work, your configs will be the first place I look from now on. I'm probably one of the bigger nerds around when it comes to these things but I'll gladly take the shortcut before spending hours to research my own configs!
