In order to get the server to successfully connect to our PXE appliance i had to disable the onboard 1gb connections, and boot in Legacy BIOS. After a successful deployment i changed the server back to UEFI, however now it wont boot into Windows.

When i try to do a one-time boot with UEFI enabled the Windows Bootloader can be seen. But when selected it just loops me back to the one-time boot menu. And if i let the server boot without interruption it just loops saying there are no bootable devices attached.

I don't know about the PXE stuff but the reason for windows 2008 r2 not booting in UEFI mode is the BIOS option UEFI Optimized Boot is probably enabled. To use windows 2008 r2 in UEFI mode on a Gen9 server with UEFI mode enabled you need to disable UEFI Optimized boot.

I would be careful though. During some updates that have run after windows 11 install, it tried to update firmware, but failed, now the Surface MC device is failing with code 10 and touchscreen is not working anymore.

I am thinking about adding a SSD to my Desktop Pavilion P6-2378 and wanted to check the UEFI-BIOS and I can not seem to be able to access it. I have read a little on this board and followed several instructions that was given. I tried with constantly pressing F10 from restart and from a complete shut down. I can't seem to find any info about this in my computer help either. Thank you.

On my HP 8200 Elite CMT Business PC with a UEFI BIOS, I need to tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get a menu of options. I cannot just hit F10 or F9 (boot options) like the good old days.

I've tried that and it did not work for me. I have a new graphics card in and it doesn't seem to fire up the monitor right away. I've been messing with this for too long today and I have to walk away for a while:smileysad: Thank you, Paul...I've been reading that many have problems with this and there are so many different solutions...it's kinda' crazy.

i tried this,my computer power switch turns amber and beeps continuously, held power button to turn off, then turned back on and it beeps again,i had to pull the power cord after switching off, then when i turned it on it booted to windows,i have a p6-2307a with updated graphics card and power supply to match card,

I have had the same problem with adding an upgraded Video Card to my p6 2378 with Windows 8. The solution for me was I had to remove the upgraded card, the go through the previous recommended steps to enter the bios. When you get to the bois you have to disable 'Secure Boot' and enable 'Legacy Boot'. Then turn off and reinstall the video card. It has worked perfectly after that.

im trying to install a new graphics card on my new hp envy 700. i was told i need to get in the bios and change the settings. so i followed these steps and the thing is. when i get to the last restart sceen and click restart i get a black screen and i get nothing. so therefor i cant get into the settings i need to get in to. any solutions?

Problem:
I am trying to install windows 10 with UEFI network boot via foreman.
I am able to do this using grub2 for installing Linux client, but getting jumbled and confused on how to do this for windows.

If your existing Windows 10 PC is running the most current version of Windows 10 and meets the above minimum hardware specifications, it can be upgraded to Windows 11. Aside from system requirements, please do pay attention to the TPM settings on your motherboard. TPM is an international standard for a secure cryptoprocessor that has been around for years. However, it is disabled by default on most motherboards, and that may prevent proper installation of Windows 11.

A2. In order to make your Windows 11 experience even better, we would recommend you to use the motherboard that is listed on support list, all the supported motherboards that bundle TPM 2.0, you can easily start using Windows 11.

A5. No, if your motherboard is not listed on support list, it means your motherboard does not meet the minimum requirements to support windows 11 even though you install other TPM 2.0 module (Card) on your motherboard. (Processor is also required to support windows 11).

Windows 11 has not been officially released and there might be stability issues with the Insider Preview build as it has not passed formal hardware validation and qualification. The installation or upgrade to the Windows 11 Insider Preview or any third-party software is done at your own discretion and risk. You will be solely responsible for any damage to your system or loss of data that results from that activity. ASUS will not be liable for any losses and damages in connection with the use of Windows 11.
