One solution I found on googling is, download the missing file and keep it in system folder and it will work. But is this the only solution? Why can't NFS work with the DirectX11 dll? I have d3dx9_32.dll and D3DX9_41.dll in my system32 directory.

Errors related to d3dx9_26.dll can arise for a few different different reasons. For instance, a faulty application, d3dx9_26.dll has been deleted or misplaced, corrupted by malicious software present on your PC or a damaged Windows registry.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall d3dx9_26.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.

Hello, I have had this problem with SPORE when trying to open it, I get this error Invalid license Error code = MISSING DLL: [d3dx9_27.dll] Error: 0xC1,I installed the SPORE from EA Desktop with my EA Play subscription provided by my xbox game pass for pc,

I found a solution that helped me. You have to go to the folder where you have Spore installed. Go to _Instaler> directx> redist. There you have files called Aug2005_d3dx9_27. You choose according to your Windows system, click on each file that is there and save it to Spore> Sporebin (where the Spore application is located). Now you should be able to start the game.

Thanks, that dll worked. I couldn't get Rocksmith (launched straight from Steam) to see any of the DLCs, not even Cherub Rock. I installed RS using Lutris and Cherub Rock showed up.. then I put the .dll in the wineprefixes windows/windows32 -directories, used winecfg to add d3dx9_42.dll into libraries, switched it to "native".. copied the downloaded CDLCs into the dlc -directory where the cherub rock was already.. and now everything works.

Anyone got even the official DLCs to work with RS launched straight from native Steam?

Update : I copied and pasted d3dx9.dll out of my APB ; binaries and put it on desktop, and it worked, the game launch properly, but I've put it back, and wait to know if I should really delete it or find a solution.

-> High level libraries are missing: There are some dx libs which CrossOver doesn't implement (yet), and which are supposed to be installed by the game, even on Windows. Those are libraries like d3dx9, d3d8x and similar. You can get them by installing the DirectX runtime in CrossOver, there is an installer profile for this.

OK, thanks. I think I've got a bit further with this, but haven't solved it yet. It looks like you've updated the d3dx9 and d3dcompiler_47 scripts, but not the d3dx10 or d3dx11 scripts yet. I tried downloading the d3dx11 script and updating with the new hashsum, copying what you did with the d3dx9 and d3dcompiler_47scripts, then running the result via Tools > Run a local script. I'm getting errors like this in the console, though:
POL_Download_Resource: command not found

When you start a game or a program that requires DirectX 9, Windows will display the following error message :
"Unable to start the program because it d3dx9_43.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".
