I am a freelancer from Canada. I can't enter my local bank information to get paid. When I try to enter the institution number and transit number, it didn't gave me the option to go to next page. I checked my bank information for many times, and I am pretty sure everything is right! Please help me to set-up my payment detail.

As my peer Andrea shared here, you have the option to add the bank information manually by selecting the "enter branch address manually" option, if you're sure you're entering the correct number and the system is not recognizing it. You may also check this help article for more information about the correct format of bank codes.

Hi,
I was trying to add a payment method in Get Paid section. When I enter my bank branch's IFSC code, it says the bank was not found. I am 100% sure that the IFSC code is correct. I tried to enter the bank details manually and the address input has a character limit on it and only registers partial address. What do I do?

I was not able to sign-in with Google SSO on Chrome, even in incognito. Safari seems to be working fine but again, same issue with the bank not being recognized despite correct IFSC code. Also, when entering manually, there is the limit on address field.

Could you please try to enter the bank address manually? You'll see the green link ''enter branch address manually'' under the ''bank not found'' section of your ''bank information'' tab. Let us know if the issue persists.

I'm Ayesha from Hyderabad, India. I was trying to set up my bank account but the system couldn't identify my IFSC code. I've tried it in different pay services and have checked the official bank site as well, the code is correct.

IFSC, short for the Indian Financial System Code is an 11-digit alphanumeric code unique to each bank branch in India, which is used for online money transfers through NEFT, RTGS and IMPS. IFSC helps identify the source and destination bank branches for transactions.

Each bank branch has a distinct IFSC that differentiates it from other branches of the same bank or different banks. This helps in avoiding any confusion or error in electronic transactions. Therefore, it is vital to check IFSC carefully before initiating any fund transfer or online purchase.

NEFT or National Electronic Fund Transfer is a nationwide electronic fund transfer system that lets you transfer money from one bank account to another. It is a safe and hassle-free process as it is monitored by the RBI. All NEFT settlements are made in a batch-wise format, and funds can be sent through NEFT to accounts of all Indian NEFT-enabled banks. To initiate an NEFT transfer, you would need the account number and name of the receiver, along with the name of the bank branch and its IFSC.

RTGS or Real Time Gross Settlement is a fund transfer method that facilitates sending and receiving money without any delay. This system allows the money sent by you to reach the beneficiary instantly once the transaction is initiated. The processing of transactions happens on an individual basis and not in a batch-wise system.

Immediate Payment Service is a real-time electronic fund transfer method where the money is credited instantly to the payee or beneficiary account. It can be carried out at any time on a 24/7 basis. In this system, interbank transfers can be initiated via multiple channels such as SMS, ATM, mobile banking, NetBanking, etc. The primary advantage of IMPS over RTGS and NEFT is that the facility can be availed around the clock.

MICR is an acronym for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. MICR code is a nine-digit code that speeds up the processing of cheques. MICR codes are unique for each bank branch and play a vital role in identifying both the bank and the branch participating in an Electronic Clearing System (ECS), which is a method of transferring funds electronically.

Handling a multitude of payments on an everyday basis, we discovered that we needed to process, validate and query several financial details, one of them being IFSC codes. We needed a system that could, easily, quickly, and accurately validate codes in order to ensure smooth payments processing. Without any complete API that suited all our requirements, we decided to build our own IFSC toolkit and even make it open source to help others in the industry.

The IFSC toolkit includes an API, the dataset downloads, and the source code to generate the entire dataset from the RBI website. You can find all these details at ifsc.razorpay.com. We have written more about razorpay IFSC Toolkit.
