CLAUDE MCP // Server 504 Gateway Timeout on Tool Calls

Hi Outbrain API Team,

I'm experiencing an issue with the Amplify MCP Server and need your help to resolve it.


Setup:

Issue: The connection initializes successfully and the tools list is returned correctly. However, every actual tool call (e.g. get-amplify-budgets-reports, get-amplify-campaigns-reports) results in a 504 Gateway Timeout from your nginx server.

What works:

  • ✅ MCP Server initialization
  • ✅ Tools list retrieval

What fails:

  • ❌ All tool calls → 504 Gateway Timeout

Error details from logs:

  • HTTP 504 returned by nginx at amplifymcp.outbrain.com
  • Timeout occurs consistently on every data request
  • Issue persists across multiple attempts over several hours


Could you please investigate whether there is a backend issue on your MCP server affecting tool call processing?

Thanks for reaching out. 

Unfortunately, there is currently a known issue with Amplify MCP Server with Claude that is causing the 504 errors.

I've just followed up with the developer team regarding this issue and will let you know as soon as it's resolved.
