Hello eVeryonePlease post or send this to your membersThanksDon****Hello Everyone!!!This is an open invitation to all members of the Bears, Chub and Chaser Community to come join us in Toronto’s Pride Parade, one of the biggest Pride Parades in North America.
Pride Toronto’s Theme this year is “Dream Big.” Bears By Nature Toronto have done just that!! Since January we been organizing events and discussing our presentation in this year’s Pride Parade. We went from having no funds to raising close to 1000$ thanks to FUNdraising efforts at The Black Eagle and Fuzion .
We came up with a fun theme “Bears in The Big House” –think of Oz meets Jail House Rock-that we know will make a big splash in this year Pride Parade.
Our Non Motorize Float is not only is economically feasible to build, but environmentally friendly as well. It’s made out of wood making it easy to construct and maneuver. By having no motor but power by people power, it greatly reduces our carbon footprint. We can truly say that our NMF is the only true “green” float in the parade this year.
All this would not be possible without the hard work of a core group of volunteers (Anthony, Tim, Chris and Casey) who are as equally passionate and committed to putting this together. However we can’t do it without your help.
Whether you belong to a Bear or Chub Group or not, we like to formally invite you to march with us in the parade. We will be providing Tshirts for those who want to march as prisoners. If you like a Tshirt please contact us by Friday June 24th. This way we’ll have a proper idea of how many to order. Please provide us with your name, contact email and telephone number and shirt size. We are also looking for people who want to march as prison guards. Whether you have a cop uniform in leather or not, we’ll love to have you join us!!! Please let us know!! If you want to show up that day, you are more than welcome to cheer us on or better yet simply join us. The more people we have the better.
This year we want to celebrate pride with a sense of style and panache!!! So join us! Let’s march in remembrance for those who overcame bigotry and fear and fought for our rights 30 yrs ago. Because of their actions, they made it possible for all of us to enjoy the rights we have today in Canada! Let’s also march for those who can’t due to circumstances: who are still struggling with their homosexuality, have to leave their homes and communities out of fear of being persecuted, and for those who are still fighting to have their rights respected and recognized. Let us all be a voice for them!! Let’s celebrate who we are! Marching side by side! In spirit! In style! And Friendship! Let’s remind the world once again that Queerdome comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and hairiness!!!
