I hope that we could do this sort of thing regularly,
perhaps every
fortnight, although I don't want to prepare and run
every game.
What I need is a few people to say "Yes, Bruno, that
sounds fun, I'll
come along." Anyone is welcome to drop in on the day,
and I will
probably be able to work them into the game, but I
need to know that I
won't be the only one there.
At present I am thinking of running a Dying Earth game
of amusing
competition between puissant arch-magi. To quote from
the appropriate
supplement: "Having achieved power's very pinnacle,
it's time to get
down to the true business of being a Arch-Magician:
proving your
superiority over your colleagues in an ever-escalating
struggle of
one-one-upmanship, avarice, and pseudo-parliamentary
procedure...
protecting yourself and your fellows from the
omnipresent enemies
intent on your annihilation is only a regrettable
periodic distraction
from these lofty pursuits." This game, unlike most
roleplaying games,
will have a winner: the one with the greatest status
accrual.

If short-lived games sound like a good idea to you,
though, send me an e-mail and I'll see what we can
arrange for the future. Or, set one up yourself!
