Hi, Paul and Groups,
We've had several updates within our Acadian Amerindian Ancestry DNA project lately. One involves Richelieu Leger DNA; another a Thibodeaux DNA discovery and a third regards the mother-line lineage of Marie Rouensa. I've summarized the findings here, in the following links, and invite more to test!
I want to share my profound admiration of my co-Administrator, Deadra Doucet Bourke for her advocacy and partnership in genetic genealogy research -- especially when it comes to our Louisiana Acadian connections. Her help is greatly appreciated!
Leger (Y DNA)
Thibodeaux (Y DNA)
Marie Rouensa (mtDNA)
Note: While it is wonderful to have the mtDNA results we do for Marie Rouensa's mother-line, we cannot forget the importance of the autosomal DNA connections to this historic ancestor as we find in the Ancestry and Family Tree DNA databases, for example.
Happy hunting, everyone, and please reply to administrators of the Acadian Amerindian Ancestry DNA project with any questions you may have about these tests!
