United States Patent and Trademark Office 2009 National Trademark Expo

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is hosting the National Trademark Expo to highlight the vital role trademarks play in our global economy as well as efforts to combat counterfeiting. The Expo will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 8 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. Admission is free. The Expo is open to the public and will be held in the USPTO's Madison Building atrium, 600 Dulany Street (at Duke Street) , Alexandria, VA. The USPTO campus is just steps from the King Street Metro. Free parking will be available on Saturday.

This year's Expo will feature exciting interactive exhibits that illustrate the importance of trademarks to such leading companies as Burberry, Callaway Golf, Bridgestone; UPS and Travelers. There will also be 25 costumed trademark characters at the Expo.. The all star cast includes: Beetle Bailey, Betty Boop, Crayola Crayons, Curious George, Dennis the Menace, Energizer Bunny, Faux Paw the Techno Cat, Hershey Kisses, Hershey Bar, Maisy Mouse, McGruff, Mr. Jelly Belly, Olive Oyl, Peter Rabbit, Pillsbury Doughboy, Popeye, Smokey Bear, Sprout, the Cat in the Hat and the Grinch.
