On June 22, the pro-Hamas Palestinian Information Centre reported:
"The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas has disclosed secret documents
it described as very dangerous and also revealed facts about and
actions by the security services substantiated by dangerous documents
confirming the involvement of commanders from the security services
and leaders from the agent current within the Fatah Movement in
financial and moral scandals, direct dealings with the Zionist
occupation, formation of death and torture squads, and encouragement
of security lawlessness.
"Dr Khalil al-Hayyah, one of the Hamas Movement's leaders, said at the
onset of a news conference at the Ramattan News Agency premises
yesterday evening, Friday 22 June that the Hamas Movement discloses
these documents after Abu-Mazin closed the door to dialogue and
levelled false accusations at the movement. Al-Hayyah noted that the
Hamas Movement will reveal the reasons that led to purging the Gaza
Strip from the security agencies that Abbas bewails.
"Al-Hayyah produced a document written by Muhammad Dahlan who led the
coupist trend that is close to the Zionist and US quarters, and that
was submitted at Abbas's meeting with Ehud Olmert, prime minister of
the occupation government, showing that the occupation authorities
have handed Dahlan's current in the West Bank 2,500 rifles and two
million bullets to confront the Islamic movement in the West Bank.
"The Hamas leader clarified that the Palestinian people witnessed
conspiracies against the outcome of the legislative elections in terms
of direct international and local incitement against these elections,
including incitement of banks not to deal with the Palestinian
government, disobedience by government employees, politicized strikes,
armed marches by security agencies members, and destruction of the
prime ministry and the Legislative Council premises in Ramallah.
"Dr Khalil al-Hayyah said that when the coupist current failed to
overthrow the elected government and Hamas Movement, it tried to
overthrow the government by force. Al-Hayyah said that the Hamas
Movement has documents confirming the involvement of the Preventive
Security Agency in eavesdropping on late Palestinian [National]
Authority President Yasir Arafat and on President Mahmud Abbas and
many other figures to blackmail them. Al-Hayyah said that they used to
incriminate former Palestinian ministers and officials in vice
scandals by taking photos of their daughters in compromising positions
and used to carry out cheap bargains with them to blackmail them.
"The deputy for the parliamentary Change and Reform Bloc explained
that the Preventive Security Agency and the General Intelligence
Department have collected information about Arab and Islamic countries
and this information was used to harass many Arab countries. He also
pointed out that the security agencies dealt with drug trafficking and
counterfeit currency.
"Continuing to speak within the same context, Al-Hayyah said that the
Hamas Movement confiscated reports from the premises of the security
agencies containing information about leaders in the movement and
Martyr Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades that was communicated to the
Zionist occupation. After this, the occupation targeted many leaders
and assassinated them, adding that he and his family were among those
who were targeted a few weeks ago in an horrible Zionist massacre in
Al-Shuja'iyah neighbourhood.
"Dr Al-Hayyah also revealed disgraceful moral scandals committed by
many security agencies' commanders and officers, showing them in
various sexual positions, which were used to blackmail them and have
them carry out specific actions and plans. Dr Al-Hayyah also revealed
plans prepared by a specific current within the Fatah Movement
comprising the formation of groups to monitor all that has to do with
the Hamas Movement - leaders, members, and positions and also about
the other Palestinian resistance factions.
"Dr Al-Hayyah said that the Zionist intelligence services were right
when they said that Hamas now controls an intelligence treasure in
Gaza. He added: We now have thousands of documents on espionage and
recordings of telephone calls, adding that what was revealed is just
one per cent only of what Hamas has in its possession.
"The Hamas leader also revealed documented confessions by a
presidential security officer, confirming the involvement of the
president's guards in planning and giving orders to assassinate
Palestinian Prime Minister Isma'il Haniyah at Rafah Crossing, noting
that the movement will keep these documents to present them to an Arab
fact-finding commission and to be used in investigations by the
Palestinian judiciary.
"Al-Hayyah produced documents at the news conference implicating the
General Intelligence and Preventive Security in installation of
eavesdropping equipment in the house of late Palestinian President
Yasir Arafat and the present President Mahmud Abbas. The matter did
not stop there and it was proved that commanders from the security
agencies used to record information that harm pan-Arab security and
that deal with Arab and Islamic countries, positions and whereabouts
of men of relion, scientists, and politicians.
"All this used to be carried out within the framework of the so-called
international relations department. Dr Al-Hayyah concluded by saying:
Had these documents not been strategically and internationally
important, we would have disclosed them by now. On Mahmud Abbas's
claims that Martyr Izz-al-Din al-Qassam had dug a tunnel in the Gaza
Strip to assassinate him, Al-Hayyah said that Hamas Political Bureau
Head Khalid Mish'al had personally affirmed to Abbas that the Al-
Qassam Brigades absolutely do not have such thoughts.
"The Palestinian leader and deputy in the Palestinian Legislative
Council said: We thank God that they transmitted the video for any
logical man realizes that this video has nothing to do with
assassination operations. On the other hand, Al-Hayyah said: We do not
want to establish an Islamic emirate in Gaza as Abbas says. We stress
the unity of our territories that have been under occupation since
1967, affirming that Hamas will administer the Gaza Strip in a
responsible manner and will not establish such an emirate.
"The deputy head of the parliamentary Change and Reform Bloc added:
There is no going back. We will move towards a free and healthy
homeland and we will administer the Gaza Strip with complete
responsibility and do not want to establish an Islamic emirate in it
as Abbas says and we affirm the unity of our territories that have
been under occupation since 1967.
"Asked about the stand of Hamas on the results of the PLO Central
Council meeting that accused Hamas of carrying out a coup against the
Palestinian Authority, Al-Hayat explained that the Islamic Resistance
Movement, Hamas won its legitimacy through the ballot boxes and that
it does not need any permission or empowerment by the PLO Central
Council. The parliamentary leader questioned the legitimacy of the PLO
and its Central Council which he described as dead bodies, appealing
to those whom he described as honest people in this homeland to unite
to rebuild the Gaza Strip once again." - Palestinian Information
