Sad news about Paul Lewis LeBlanc

Marty Guidry passed along the sad news about Paul that he only found out about recently. Many of us knew Paul as a friend and cousin in Acadian genealogy research.

I’m so sad to hear this. I’m also sad that it took us so long to hear. I had emailed him and hadn’t heard back, so the news that he was in a nursing home made sense. I’m sorry we didn’t know so we could have sent him cards or something.

 

He did so much for genealogy for so many years.

 

I hope his work and tree is preserved someplace so all his work doesn’t disappear.

Thank you very much for passing this on to us.  I knew Paul and visited with him often
when I went to Gonzales.  I very giving as it related to his information in genealogy.  He
was one of a kind, so sad to see him go, but he was very sick the last time I saw him.

Here is a link to Paul's Find A Grave Memorial.  If anyone has a good photo of him you should add it to his memorial.  Also if you know a bit about his immediate family tree please link him to his parent's memorials.

I'm saddened to read this about Paul.  I remember our telephone conversations about our genealogy research.   He was such a great help.

I had the pleasure of working with him as he transitioned the groups to Google.  He loved his genealogy and had a strong desire to help anybody with their's.  His passing is a huge loss.
