French Language and Heritage day

I will send you the flyer when it comes out but you are invited to come and celebrate the 

FRENCH LANGUAGE AND HERITAGE DAY

at VERMILIONVILLE located in Lafayette LA

Saturday September 4th. 

Doors open at 9:00 am 

I wrote the French Proclamation (SEE ATTACHED) and set the date as September 7 for French Language and Heritage day. 

(we will celebrate at VERMILIONVILLE on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH) 

I met with area mayors and they put it on their agendas to vote. 

So we appointed an honorary mayor who will read the proclamation in English and in French to kick off the festival.

I wanted to make it a more international type festival than a standard Cajun/ Creole festival so we added the wine, beer and distillery tasting. 

It was also supposed to have street performers but for whatever reason that did not happen. 

We also have a jambalaya cook-off and a Voyageur canoe race. 

I hope that people attend.
