Please help us to preserve our language and our culture that makes us so uniquely Louisiana.

Cajun French and Creole French are on the verge of extinction. Once they are lost they will be lost forever.

I have attached a French PROCLAMATION for you to consider being placed on your next agenda. 

I do not know if anything similar has ever been written for Louisiana. 

I will be happy to discuss changes if it will help to get this approved. (see attached word document)

I have sent this to several area Mayors who have approved and signed (see attached pdf) and have been asked to speak at city council meetings to discuss the significance of the proclamation and the date of September 7. 

I anxiously await your comments. 

Visitors come to our state because of our unique culture.

*How long do you think we will be able to maintain this culture once our beautiful French language is gone.

*How long will they buy our music when nobody can understand what they are saying.

*We will be just like every other state, city or town in America.

Economic impact of tourism in Louisiana in 2017

Spending in support of the tourism industry

neared $14.3 billion in Louisiana, which

supported just over $21.5 billion in business

sales when indirect and induced impacts

are considered.

Tourism directly generated 133,292 jobs

and just over 186,000 when indirect and

induced impacts are considered.

Tourism generated nearly $3.5 billion in

direct income and $5.8 billion when indirect

and induced impacts are considered.

State and local taxes alone tallied $1,813

billion in 2017.

1 in 14 jobs are impacted by tourism in Louisiana.
