Thanks Sir for sharing the articles. I did meet a Captain few years back who was posted there, but enormity of staying alive itself in such an inhospitable zone did not come clear. He was saying that many of them loose toes and fingers because of frostbite.

Science and technology should have some solution to make it little easier for our Jawans in the zone. Exploring the positioning of sensors with artificial intelligence and adaptable learning and having a solid fire power embedded on the ridge, to be fired by the sensor triggered mechanism with 24X7 monitoring from the base camp, could be an area of interest to work on. Small drones flying close to the ridge may also give vital troop movements  on the other side  making the system much more realistic and reliable.

Madhuresh, Angad and other tech people BCCed in this mail may have some views ..
