searchdate constant number of results

Hi

I get the same number of tweets for searchdate method, no matter how I set the zoom level(10,100,1000,etc). What does the zoom level mean? In the documentation it only said the default number(10) will return up to 100, but what about the other values? For instance, how we can specify to return 500 top results?
