I have 2 TP-Link Kasa devises a KP115 smart plug with energy monitoring and a HS105 smart plug (no energy monitoring). So I installed your TP-Link Edge driver to try and get local control and energy monitoring for the KP115 in ST.
I do remember TP-Link had started disabling local control on some of their devices a couple years ago with a firmware update, but I believe they reversed that decision shortly after. Verify the FW is up to date.
Sorry about that, I do not have a KP115 to test with at this time. If I can get my hands on one I can try to get it working. Since the TP-Link API is not documented, adding new devices/capabilities often requires manual inspection of the protocol from the device itself.
Perfect, going to give this a try this weekend =) thank you so much for sharing this with the community. I know there are many of us that have TP-Link switches that would love to have them run locally
I have the outdoor plug (KP400) with two outlets. I am able to find it but it only the master outlet that controls both plugs but there is no individual outlets found so I am unable to control each separately. Also, the status works the first time and then gets stuck in the off position. You can still control both (off/on) but status changes for a brief second and changes back to off.
Yeah, unfortunately there is still some work to be done for the multi-component devices like the dual plug outlet and the power strip. At the time I wrote the driver multi-component devices were not yet supported for Edge drivers. If there is now support I will look into getting that fixed.
@BarryA thank you for providing the link to enroll in the channel. Typically after installing a particular driver I do a scan and the driver comes up as a new device but that is not happening here. How do we add bulbs? I assume we will need to create a new device but how is that done?
You just need to install the driver in the usual manner. Then do scan nearby and it should pick up any TP-Link Kasa devices that you already installed on your network using the Kasa app. I have 1 device that I had to unplug and plug in during the discover process.
Everytime it's stopped working I check Device Manager and the TP-Link Adapter has changed itself to a Realtek adapter (with a driver from 2008?) I have tried disabling Hardware Driver updates from Windows, Changing my Group Policy to disable Driver updates and even stopping the Windows Update Service. I'm honestly not sure what is happening, all I know is that everytime it stops it becomes a Realtek Device instead of saying "TP-Link Wireless Adapter"
We were looking to purchase around 1100 various TP-Link Access Points, Switches & Routers for our offices nationwide but based on this compatibility & level of support we have advised our service provider to offer us another quote with Ubiquiti products. Funny how this seemingly minor issue has caused us to rethink purchasing over half a million dollars of TP-Link gear.
Thank you for being interested in TP-Link products, it's a pity we failed to notice your case in first time, the moderators are active and monitoring the forum, but we might not be able to respond in a timely manner. For any urgent help, you could try to contact our local support via hotline or email from here:
I'd like also to emphasize a lack of compatibility with a new build of win10 (21H2 build). I also purchased T2E a month ago to this date I can't get a stable connection to it. Both drivers given from TP-Link official page are unstable.
3. How does the connection recover e.g. disconnect for 30 secs and reconnect by itself
4. What is the model number of your Wi-Fi router?
So the driver software you can install from TP link technically works ( -
link.com/ca/support/download/ub400/#Driver), but let be honest it is very slow. Audio output to my bluetooth headphones is constatanly out of sync by 1-2 seconds at worst. The real problem with the TP-Link's driver software is that it can only pair with one device at a time, and the pairing process is forced to have to connect only using the bluetooth icon in the taskbar.
@jrmistry That's interesting the 2004 bloke your BT as well. It took out the built in setup, so I tried the external dongle to see what would happen. It didn't work either. The dongle was listed in the printers and devices section with e picture of a headset (as is seen in this thread), however, I was unable to find it listed in the actual device manager., therefore I was unable to update it or choose a different driver.
I had this problem, but found a solution that I hadn't seen explained in full anywhere else (although the idea of updating the driver that some people have mentioned was the clue that let me find the solution).
@JaydenH, I had similar issues and i had to go to Add or remove program and remove CSR Bluetooth Harmony Stack, then scan for hardware changes in device manager and suddenly everything started appearing again. Also check, ctrl + r, type services.msc and see if BluetoothSupportService is running otherwise restart the service and reboot. Hope this helps.
@JaydenH If it is not recognized, please download and install the Bluetooth driver manually from the official website. Try to insert UB400/ UB4A into a different USB port on your computer. For Windows XP/7, try to restart the computer after installing the driver.
@JaydenH A little bit too late, but I run into the same problem: my computer has a faulty integrated BT adapter, and Windows would not recognize the UB400 I got as a replacement. The UB400 will work only after you disable the default adapter. Try disabling the default adapter and rebooting your machine.
For some months already I'm facing packet loss when playing videogames (random 1% to 2%). After trying everything like PortForwarding, setting up DMZ-host, changing WindowsDefender, changing adaptor-setting and contacting ISP, I figured that it's the driver causing issues.
With this version the issue has returned, and the button previous driver is disabled. When manually using the TP-Link repair function it will return to the TP-Link driver again. Though it's quite annoying to perform this on a daily basis..
Although for the average customer I would highly recommend avoiding changing Windows-settings, since avoiding driver-updates can lead to security issues. In my opinion the issue should be resolved by TP-Link by creating a new firmware-version. Even when you just recompile the old version and publish it again, it might recognize it as the correct driver.
The driver built-in the computer is newer while the stability is worse; we launch the official driver after we test the compatibility among different OS version and the stability; the new firmware is released based on the previous driver after fixed some problems and add new settings.
I recently bought a Archer T4U v3 USB Adapter, and everytime i boot my computer the driver resets from the official TP-Link Driver to a generic Realtek Driver, which causes massive packet loss in my connection making it impossible to use. Is there a way to prevent windows 10 from switching the drivers everytime i boot? The only workaround i found was to repair the TP-Link driver through the app, but everytime i reboot the Realtek gets installed again.
Everytime i reboot the PC i get the usb disconnected and connected sound and the driver changes from the TP-Link to a Realtek. When i repair the driver with the TP-Link application, the driver changes to the correct one, and it works fine when i do that, but when i reboot the pc, the driver gets overwritten by the realtek one and i get massive packet losses with it.
I never installed any realtek driver, windows 10 installed it automatically when i inserted the usb adapter on the pc for the first time, and even if i try to uninstall this driver it gets installed again.
@TNascimb to everyone who's having issues when using the T4U, don't use the TP-Link provided drivers, are CRAP, the most understandeable thing is to know wich chip uses the T4U V3, and thats in fact a Realtek RTL8812BU
@Lincer556 I have tried to download the link you provided but I am unable to install the driver via device manager. I tried to install using the setup after extracting the folder but the network adapter T4U V3 has no response.
This is what I did to prevent the roll back to Microsoft's driver from another forum. Solution is to prevent Windows from automatically upgrading drivers (System -> Advanced System Settings -> Hardware -> Device Installation Settings -> No)
Basically disable windows from updating the drivers automatically. To me, the TP-link drivers are definitely better than the Microsoft's driver but TP-Link's driver will spike every 20 seconds or so.
I have been gifted an AX1800, ARCHER TX20U Plus wireless usb adaptor, for my pc (Currently using Pop Os linux). Ive been searching for drivers but i cant find does anyone has a solution for that? I do not have a recipt so changing not an option. ( sorry for any wrong information ive given if you see the module ive been looking you will get the point)
If the same, when issue occurs, does the adapter still show up in Device manager > Network adapter (check hardware if recognized) Or what is the error message on Wi-Fi, may I have a photo of it. and a photo of computer motherboard and system info of Window11.
I just noticed you mentioned that when take out of box adapter worked fine with 5Ghz wifi, if so you could keep use that Windows driver. (update driver by Windows or remove the driver that causes the issue). If Windows automatically -found driver work stably, can I know the driver date of that driver like 1030.38XX
