‘Got the facts on Milk?’ is a comical feature documentary that questions the much publicized health benefits of milk. Film maker Shira Lane takes a road-trip across America to get the truth on the unchallenged perceptions of milk. Addressing myth, truth and all in between, the film becomes a humorous yet shocking exposition that provokes serious thought about this everyday staple.
Join Shira and friends on a journey to the arbiter of all things health related, the USDA in Washington DC, on their mission to get factual answers to common milk misperceptions. We peek into milking farms, advertising campaigns, lactose intolerance, cancer, hormones, heart disease, diabetes, milk derivatives, dairy funded school programs and the empowered multi-billion dollar dairy industry.

Why Kickstart?
This film, which is complete, has been in the making for almost five years. We have won numerous festival awards and are ready to release the film to the public, but in order to do so we need additional funds to pay our our amazing musicians for the rights for their work and purchase E&O insurance. Since we can’t wait any longer for our investors to pull through we are turning to our wonderful fans that believe in this film and understand the importance of its message.
Why and what is E&O insurance?
This is insurance that films and television shows must have in order to be presented on broadcast networks, which also protects the film should the dairy industry decide to sue.
Will this film be broadcast on television? It is our goal to make this film available cheaply for broadcasters to show it. This way we have a greater chance for more people to see it.
What is a pre-release DVD?
These DVDs will be sent out before DVDs are available to the public. These maybe the only DVDs available as we strive to be greener and are considering only having a streaming version available for personal use.
Is this a comedy or a reputable documentary film?
The film will put a smile on your face, but that doesn’t mean this not a serious film. We had the honor to work with the following experts: Dr. T. Colin Campbell; PhD, Neal Barnard; M.D.; John A. McDougall, M.D; Isabel Maples Med, RD; Amy Joy Lanou Ph.D; and many more. Also the film has undergone methodical legal reviews, (this process has taken the longest).
How long till I get my rewards?
Approximately 60 days after the successful closing date, the rewards will be sent out. This allows sufficient time for the funds to transfer after the project is successfully funded. Once a project has been funded on Kickstarter it takes a few weeks for the funds to get to us from Amazon who control the transactions.
I don’t live in the USA, can I back the film?
Yes!! We do not discriminate. The shipping for domestic + International are included for rewards.
How much did this film cost up until now?
Let’s just say it is a 6 digit figure.
How was this film funded up until now?
In 2006 Shira Lane contributed the original funding from her own savings and established Unleashed Productions. After two years LeTo Entertainment joined in to aid in post production completion funds. Since then the film has undergone methodical legal reviews to insure we have all our facts 1000% correct..
