Hey folks:

I'm a new vegan and wondering where in Ottawa I can buy vegan
chocolate or carob?

Thanks for any help!

Well, any of the health food stores you will find vegan chocolate and
carob... including rice milk chocolate. Market Organics and Herb & Spice
specifically.... Kardish in the Glebe too.. I'm sure any of them...

My favourite! and less expensive, BUT not fair trade chocolate is the
President's Choice dark chocolate with almonds. "May contain traces of milk"
warning on the label, but I don't think that counts - usually means they
used the same equipment as milk chocolate/etc after cleaning it.

This weekend I purchased and tried Righteously Raw Organic Cholcolate
Goji Berry flavor (Rainbow Foods), and I'll tell you, it was like a
taste sensation had exploded in my mouth. These bars are considered
super foods and tend to be rather pricey, however worth it, since you
are getting the full nutrient value here...

There's a locally-made (Montreal) product available at Rainbow, Herb &
Spice Bank and more locations to come - DrVie Superfoods. Gluten-nut-
sugar-free as well!
Awesome quality and nutrition, check out the website www.DrVieSuperfoods.com.
Also see my other posting for info re Chocolate Party in Montreal
December 20th, just reserve your place on the web!

Katie G posted on Facebook:
another vegan food update, Bulk Barn now has chocolate covered hazelnuts
that are vegan
I'm not sure about the cranberries, but the chocolate covered espresso beans
have dairy. The chocolate covered almonds are also vegan.

Check it out!!
