Zen Kitchen Meetup - September 24th

Location: Zen Kitchen, 634 Somerset Street West (half block east of
Bronson)

OK I'm hoping is that this place works for an informal buffet where we
order a number of dishes and each get to try them all but people are
welcome to opt out and stick with just one dish/one flavour.... ;0) I
am told that it is more difficult to have this kind of sharing meal at
this restaurant... but we shall see!

Anyway, I've been running this group out of pocket for several years
now, and the last two years have been somewhat dismal compared to the
veg*n meetup in its previous glory. ;0) I've been busy, and with more
events going on at different times. there was granola girl dinners,
and vegan potlucks, and NCVA pub nights etc to work around, and I've
tried to post some other interesting related events on the meetup
calendar as well. People have suggested to me that I charge a small
fee for meetups to help cover costs (as it also takes my time). Thus I
am going to start asking for $1 per person per meetup on top of their
individual costs for food. In this case the restaurant is high end
gourmet so the individual cost for the food will be more than usual.
($25-50 depending on your appetite?) See the website to have an idea

Shall I say also that this meetup is *almost* on my birthday and with
the Walk for Farm Sanctuary a couple days after, donations are welcome
for that. ;0)

Also a reminder that at the various events I am attending such as the
NCVA potluck or this meetup, you can email me with an order for
Nelakee vegan meat http://OttawaVeg.com/ ... and I can get it to you
at one of these events. If you've been in Toronto for the Veg Food
Fair you have most likely come across these fun and delicious vegan
faux meats like shrimp, drumsticks, ham, half chicken (also seen at
Sacred Garden and Green Earth Restaurants).

Depending on the interest I may have to cut short the amount of people
RSVPing. Currently I have set it to allow RSVPS until Sunday Sept 20
7:00pm. I think going forward too I'm going to have to hold people to
their RSVPs as from time to time I tell the restaurant a number more
people are coming than end up showing which is not fun!
