( formerly known as Macho) Have a blast--and help animals!--by partying at the Rock for Horses fundraiser in support of Refuge RR for Horses, Saturday April 9 at Ottawa's legendary home of the blues, the Rainbow Bistro.   Located east of Ottawa, Refuge RR rescues, rehabilitates and provides permanent homes for abused, neglected and/or abandoned horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats (see http://www.refugerr.org/  ). At Rock for Horses you'll e...njoy six hours packed with fun, including: - Four high-energy bands performing live rock, blues, folk, indie and alternative music (Soul Fusion, Right by Midnight, Tanya Janca and The Miss Polygamy Collective) - All the free vegan food and munchies you can eat (thank you to our generous sponsor The Table Vegetarian Restaurant)  The Truffle Treasures staff will be there with a special offer to benefit the animals  and a taste of vegan gelato's - Full access to the Bistro bar - A silent auction for tons of cool items, including tickets to the D-TOX RockFest - Door prizes ... meeting animal-friendly people ... and more ... Most important, you'll be supporting the vital work of Refuge RR ... for horses like Joe (pictured), rescued from a slaughterhouse by OADL ... Keithman, whose skull was fractured by his owner ... Aurore, whose owner smashed out her teeth and put an axe through her neck ... and Magic the pony, who was tied by a chain embedded inside his neck ... all now safe and sound at Refuge RR, along with other horses and  hundreds of chickens, pigs and other Earthlings rescued from the horrors of factory farms and other abuses.
