Here are the finalized details for the upcoming screening of One Lucky Elephant:
"This is Flora's Story"
A must-see film for all audiences!
A story that will change hearts and minds regarding elephants in captivity and will, through public awareness and education, help bring an end to the use of animals in entertainment.
Two screenings will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011
First screening: 11:45am
Second screening: 2:30pm
Refreshments will be served between screenings, courtesy of Bridgehead and OADL volunteers.
Featured Guest Speaker:
Following each show Rob Laidlaw, of Zoocheck Canada will address the audience followed by a Q&A session.
Rob Laidlaw is founder of Zoocheck Canada and author of several books, including one children's book called "On Parade", a follow-up to his highly acclaimed book, "Wild Animals in Captivity".
Rob began his animal protection work in 1979 investigating slaughterhouses and farming practices in Ontario, Canada. Since 1984 he has been involved in wildlife issues, with an emphasis on the welfare of wildlife captivity.
Rob is a Chartered Biologist, a former humane society inspector, past member of the board of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and past project Manager/Technical Adviser for the World Society for the Protection of Animals.
We are thrilled that he has accepted our invitation to be our featured guest speaker.
Rob's books will be available to purchase and all funds from these sales will benefit Zoocheck.
Ticket price is a mere $10 per person, children under the age of 13 get in free.

that if you cancel to please let us know one week before the screening date.
Expect some great door prizes to be given away too!!!
All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Flora's Endowment Fund and Zoocheck Canada.
(If anyone would like to contribute some delicious vegan treats, just bring them along. All yummies welcomed!)
