Hi ALL;
Please read the summary of the plight of this little dog who due to human carelessness (or maybe stupidity) has ended up putting this little Westie's life on the line. The family made the error, NOW they want to kill him even though he has multiple offers and LEGALLY speaking must be returned to the WESTIE BREEDER. PLEASE act. It is not only this life, it is also the precedent that it may set that contracts the require the return of the dog do not have to be lived up to or followed. That should be of concern to all of us who work day and night to save animals and find them good homes. There is a long list of people who would be willing to give Harrison a good home, this could help also to make it known to the Shelter and the Township that they have alternatives to allowing the family to kill him.
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. WE HAVE TILL TUESDAY FEB 8th to save his life. Thank you for all your help and for acting and posting.
Yours In Rescue

HERE IS THE SUMMARY (Followed by the link to the little heartfelt video about his plight and below that the actions you can take and contact info for a wide range of officials).
This heartfelt video that was made explains Harrison's plight. The contract that the Emes (family involved) signed very clearly states that if for any reason you cannot keep Harrison, he is to go back to the breeder with a full refund.
Mr. Emes died suddenly in January. Short days ago, his granddaughter was put on the floor unsupervised with Harrison with one of his toys. Harrison went for the toy and got the girl, who is alright and had one puncture wound. The father is very, very angry and vindictive. He will not let Harrison go back to his breeder. The dog is at a NO KILL shelter for the 10 day quarantine, and they are going to release Harrison on the 8th which is this Wed. back to the son. He has stated that he will put down the dog, one way or another, if a vet clinic will not put down a healthy dog. The NO KILL shelter knows of his intentions, which begs the question that it is truly a NO KILL shelter.
Please help us put pressure on the NO KILL shelter and the township of Uxbridge. Please cross post this message to as many of your friends as possible.

Clear cutting of old growth forest in South March Highlands, Kanata
OTTAWA – A KNL Development vehicle decal describes exactly what is happening at the South March Highlands. It reads, “If it flies, it dies. If it’s brown, it comes down.” Sadly, this is the heartless attitude that will be remembered by thousands as the KNL motto.
KNL has almost completed the clear cutting of two square kilometers of old growth forest for a residential subdivision by Urbandale and Richcraft. With the rapid felling of trees, people are finding injured and dead animals in what remains of the forest, and they are taking photographs to document these atrocities. Children and parents alike living in the area are distraught by the evidence of the plight of the animals, and a Kanata girl sleeps with a picture under her pillow of a porcupine that was injured and found frozen to death, hoping that Mayor Jim Watson will step in and stop the clear cutting.
Animals in hibernation have a slowed metabolic rate, and they have no chance of survival if they are awoken during this period. Porcupines gestate during the winter months, and usually just one offspring is born in the early spring. Several porcupines have climbed up trees to escape, but when the trees are cut, the animals fall to their death or are critically injured. Many animals store food in their dens for the winter months, and these food stores are being destroyed. Squirrels build nests in tree tops and they will not have time to rebuild nests once the trees that contain their homes are felled. So far, there have been reports of dead porcupines, deer, and beaver. In an effort to help the birds that sheltered in trees that have been cut, supporters of the Beaver Pond Forest are putting up birdhouses in the small plots where trees still remain. Lynne Rowe, founder and director of the Constance Creek Wildlife Refuge
in Dunrobin, has asked the city and KNL to cooperate in helping the animals survive. But she has received no response, and she has been told to leave the property on her visits into the forest to search for injured or displaced wildlife.
The definition of distress as defined in the OSPCA Act is as follows: "Distress" means the state of being in need of proper care, water, food or shelter; or being injured, sick or in pain, or suffering; or being abused or subject to undue or unnecessary hardship, privation or neglect. Under the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and any other Act pertaining to the distress of animals, federal and provincial charges can be laid for animal deaths, abuse, torture, and cruelty in Ontario. So, what about the animals that are suffering and dying at the Beaver Pond Forest? The Humane Society and the Ministry of Natural Resources claim they can’t help. Who will be held accountable?
