Bulk removal of properties from the Built Heritage Registry

FYI. As a result of Bill 109, Ontario cities face a deadline of December 31, 2024, to either designate properties on the registry with heritage protection or lose the ability to do so for five years.
The City of Ottawa heritage staff is working to identify the properties of greatest interest and work toward designation of those, while removing the rest.
Since these properties will have been removed before the deadline they are eligible to be added again at some point in future.

The list of those properties in Old Ottawa South to be removed is found in the attached report, grouped by ward (Capital Ward = Ward 17).

Thanks Kathy. It's been a mess both ways. Hard to protect what really matters. Now the price of housing is going crazy because people think they can make a bundle through redevelopment.
