Hey - all!!!   Nice to hear from you guys... Well I'm still with Deloitte, now getting promoted as a manager... I'm actually leaving france in 2 months and will join Deloitte in Morocco...   Getting married in December... Yikes!  Year 4 at Bell in (information security) Identity & Access Management solutions, in Ottawa.  Looking forward to another Ottawa Summer in Ottawa, Montreal, and (maybe) Toronto, as soon as the weather decides to co-operate.

 

GrandKids; aging parents; economic downturn; competitive landscape, organizational development, business transformation, …, (you know:- ) stuff.

Hi All;

 

Great to hear from everyone!

 

It's hard to believe that it has been almost five years...

 

On this end- I have just left a position as Director, Supply Chain Management at a local tech company (BTI Systems) after spending far too much time in China (loved China- great place, wonderful people) and trading off all other non-work life as a consequence of this job. I am currently in the process of starting up a consulting company (Ops/ Supply Chain) with a partner in Shenzen.

 

More importantly, I am now the father of an awesome 2.5 year old daughter (Alexandra) and am happily spending some bonus summer time pushing a tricycle, teaching finding footholds on the climbing wall and blowing some high-quality bubbles... 

 

Wishing everyone all the best and once this round of 'checking in' is done, would love to try and get any of the Ottawa-based gang together for some food/ beverages or even golf....

Hello All,

 

It is interesting to hear from you all. LIfe is going on as one would expect.

 

It took me another year and a half to finish the program, picking up only the courses that I thought would be interesting. At the same time, I started to consult for a startup company in Vancouver. I managed to combine both the technical and business side. That was fun as long as it lasted. I then tried two startups (one with a friend, the other one in the medical area), they did not get off the ground but at least I now know where some of my limits are.

Much to my surprise a year and a half ago, I was hired back by Nortel at the time when they were laying off thousands of people. The moral of the story being that your past can catch up with you (in a positive way sometime).

 

Anyhow  it is nice to hear from the past and wish everyone good luck in these temporarily troubled times.
