1st Aid / AED Certification

Each year the club helps to co-ordinate a group re-certification of Emergency 1st Aid and Automated External Defibrillation for coaches who require it.

This year we have 3 (possibly 4) remaining spots that we are making available to the general membership.  These are great skills to have regardless of your profession, family situation, or regular mode of transport.  You never know when or where to whom an emergency medical event will occur.  This training will provide you with the skills and confidence to respond.

The certification consists of two parts:

1 - An online interactive training course that you can do at your own pace (but MUST be completed prior to the hands-on portion)

2 - A hands-on clinic with instruction, demonstration, and guided evaluation

The hands on portion will be held at the clubhouse the evening of Friday March 6th.  Access to the online portion (to be completed beforehand) will begin the first week of February.

The approximate cost of the certification is $110.

Last chance to sign-up for the 1st Aid and Automated External Defibrillation certification.  I will be submitting the names for the online accounts at the end of the day on Friday January 31st.  We are not allowed to modify this list once it is submitted.  We only have 2 spots left!

Please be sure that you are available the evening of Friday March 6th for the hands-on portion of the certification before signing up.

Might you consider running another of these courses?

We only co-ordinate this once per year, normally the planning starts in January and the training takes place in the March timeframe.  This coincides with the time of year that many of our coach certifications expire and normally it will be one of the coaches who's certification is about to expire that does the legwork.  As such, it won't be me for at least another 2 years.
