Track Day; Ferrari for sale

I was talking to Andre Awad.  Some of you will remember Andre who used to run track days at Calabogie that I and others attended.  He is running a track "day" at Shannonville on Friday June 15.  It is on the full track and runs from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Cost will be $120 but could drop to as little as $80 depending on how many people turn out.  If you are interested, call Andre on his cell at 613-795-8584.

 

Andre is trying to sell his 2003 Ferrari 575 M.  Black with a V-12 engine.  It has 16,000 km.  He is asking $120K.  Come on John, you know you want it!

 

By the way, he has set up a car detailing business at 5515 Canotek Rd called AutoSport Detailing.  Located on back side of Elite Auto building.  Phone number there is 613-745-9119.  E-mail is an...@autosd.ca.

Good to see Andre has not completely disappeared off the face of the earth!

I was driving near Shillington and Merivale a few weeks ago and was surprised to see the old place has been changed to new owners.  I was wondering what happened to that guy.

I have never driven in Shannonville but looking at the pics and from what people have said, it's a pretty rough track.  

I've always liked the 550 Maranello (and 575 evolution of it) but $120K is too steep for that kind of car.  I have seen examples on Ebay Motors selling in the 60-70K range.  Very nice GT car.  

I was at the BMWCO HPDE at Calabogie 2 weeks ago and saw Andre's old black 348tb tearing it up.  Brave guy to race a car like that!  I actually was hoping it was Andre behind the wheel but it was the new owner.

yep good to hear he's up and running again... the strong canadian dollar
has really nicked anyone who bought a car at a premium a few years ago...
when I got my nsx - the CDN dollar was a 66 cents so it made the 45k price
comparable to a 30k us car - now not so much... only thing I can wish for
is that it stays strong for anyother 18 months so I can hit my savings
target for the "upgrade" ;)

Yes. He is still alive.  In addition to the detailing place, he has another business with a mechanic at 1040 Somerset.

 

I have driven several times at Shannonville.  Not slickly smooth like Calabogie but fine to drive on especially considering the price.

 

Oh yeah, maybe I should pick one up!  Just kidding, I love the no to low maintenance on the NSX.

 

That would be Hagen.  Track instructor.  Very nice guy.

 

I may come visit you guys on Sunday just to see.  Can't eat the food at luncheon because of my food restrictions.
