Product Engineer (Process, Product and Design - Chemistry Solution),
Perm, Full-time, Ottawa, ON

Full-time, permanent opportunity exists for a Product Engineer
(Process, Product and Design - Chemistry Solution) with our large,
well established, private sector client in Ottawa, ON.

Candidate must have:

• Degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 6 years
experience in a mix of Process, Product and Design Engineering
functions. Chemistry and solution manufacturing/ design experience
preferred.
• Ability to convert Strategy into Results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must.
• Knowledge gathering and dissemination, via report writing,
presentation skills and conversation with peers.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze and interpret data, and
document conclusions.
• Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all
levels

• Problem solving and negotiations skills
• Good judgment and decision making skills

Scope

The Senior/Intermediate Product Engineer will maintain expertise in
product performance, manufacturing processes, test methods and
materials, with a focus area of Cartridge calibration /test solutions.
Provide Technical Lead role for key projects, and manufacturing
events. Maintain technical specifications for solution material
specifications and related incoming material qualification test
protocols. Act as key resource to resolve issues related to the
solutions, interfacing with related technical departments, defining
resolution strategies and overseeing execution. Develop proactive
Strategies to improve product yield and reduce manufacturing costs and
execute.

Core Job Responsibilities
• Identify strategies to resolve product problems, and execute.
• Monitor finished goods scrap in relation to focus areas, and lead/
participate in investigations, where appropriate.
• Prioritize problems and help achieve consensus on approach with the
broader team spanning departments.
• Maintain knowledge of product performance and manufacturing costs
and apply where needed to justify overall strategies.
• Provide Technical Lead role for key projects, and manufacturing
events.
• Maintain expertise and apply Quality Systems requirements and
procedures.
