Quality Assurance Engineer / Lead needed by fast-growing Ottawa startup

empowers organizations with accountability, escalation and resolution
of routine tasks and critical issues by enabling faster delivery and
response to vital information through cross-media communications.

Due to recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance
Engineer/Lead who would like to become a software quality gatekeeper
for a thriving, vibrant startup company. This is a newly created
position.

Responsibilities
Perform functional (white-box, black-box), integration, regression,
automated, performance and capacity testing
Create and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts
Define and execute acceptance tests
Verify reported defects and issues from other teams
Test multi-tier applications and highly concurrent applications
Work with multiple local and remote teams and managing competing
requirements from different stakeholders

Qualifications
Experience defining, guiding and managing quality control processes
throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
Programming skills (Java, Python)
Experience with testing embedded software
VoIP telephony (SIP, PBX, CTI) experience
Proven history of delivering high quality releases on time

quick to learn unfamiliar technologies and can show leadership in a
startup work environment. You are also highly motivated, a creative
problem solver, dedicated, dependable, have excellent attention to
detail and have the ability and desire to work both independently and
