ott.talk.high-tech is an unmoderated newsgroup for the discussion
of issues of interest to high-tech workers in the National Capital
Region. Appropriate topics for discussion include:

o Job market information - employment levels, prevailing wages,
layoffs, etc.
o EI programs
o Training and re-training
o Information regarding local employers and agencies (NO Ads)
o Trade organizations (NO Ads / Recruiting)
o Self employment - starting a business
o Employment standards
o Legal aspects
- employment contracts, benefits, severance, pension,
taxation, etc.
o Networking groups
o Any other topic relating to high-tech jobs in the National
Capital Region.

The following are restrictions or limitations for
ott.talk.high-tech:

o Announcement of upcoming events are welcome.
o Advertising of a commercial nature is NOT welcome.
o While discussion of job ads is welcome in this group, actual
job ads belong in ott.jobs
o Crossposting will not be permitted to/from other ott.* groups
o Crossposting will not be permitted to/from any other newsroups
o Enticements for participants in multi-level marketing or email
solicitation are not welcome.
