recently purchased a canoe at an estate sale. The ID plate says it was
made by Appleby Mfg Co, Lebanon MO. Model 17C.

I found out from talking with the relatives of the original owner, that this
canoe was purchased new in the mid to late 70's. And has hung unused in a
storage garage for the last 20 years. It is in great shape with the
exception of the vinyl covered wood seats.

My question is, has anyone heard of this brand? I can find little to
nothing on the web about it. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, Is the canoe, Aluminum, Wood, :Plastic, Fibreglas? This would help, to
know. If it is wood, you may goto www.Wcha.org and ask, in their Forum.

Or you can research the Search Engines, like www.google.com

I hope this is of help,

Hi there;
What type of canoe is it? Fiberglass? Wood-canvas?
Thanks and regards

This is an aluminum canoe. I have tried searching through google, but have
not been able to find much info. The only things I can assume are that this
company no longer exists, they did not make very many canoes, and that not
many of them have survived. Of course, it could be that the company name
has changed, because there are other brands of canoes made in Lebanon MO.
