I stopped at a gas station on HWY 2 to fill up on the way home today. There
were two metric cruisers with Quebec plates parked off to the side; when I
came out of the store after paying for the gas I spoke with one of the
riders. I asked her where they had been and immediately we had a language
problem as she didn't speak very much English and I barely remembered my
French. I was able to gather that they were on their way home from Sandbanks
Provincial Park, though.

Anyways, I wanted to say "Have a safe ride home" in French, but my ageing
brain just could not find the words. So.... seeing as how I meet lots of
Quebec riders in my area and I'll no doubt be in this position again, can
someone tell me how to say this in French?

"Bonne route" is a French expression that could be used as it signifies
"Have a safe trip"

Thanks for the replies! I like the "Bonne route" and "Bon retour a la
maison". I think I can remember those two.

Just say to her:

"Voulez-vous couchez avec moi?"

Or maybe not....

Thanks, Joe, but I haven't forgotten ALL of the French I learned while
stationed in Montreal. :-) One of my favourite lines was "Tes yeux sont
merveilleur."
