If so, I need a favour.
I'm seriously considering buying one for my next bike, but I'd like to test
ride it first. You see where it's going? I've inquired in OGTC about test
rides, and got a round-about answer that amounted to a "no"; I don't blame
them, especially when you consider I probably won't be buying a new one.
I want to borrow your KLR for a short test ride. Even a spin in a large
parking lot would be good enough. If you let me take it out on the road,
why, that would be even better. Naturally, I assume all responsibility,
sign whatever seems reasonable, and treat you to dinner at your favourite
restaurant afterwards! For the record, I have M2 license (passed OCSC
course) and 2 years of riding experience.
If I like the bike, and you decide to sell it next Spring, I'll also
consider your bike before any other.
So, any takers?
Nikita.

I had success riding someone else's bike when I offered equal seat time
in my own. Got a bike, Nikita? *grin*

Not any more, so that could be a problem.
Nikita.
The big KLR is quite tall, do you fit the bike well?
I would be reluctant to let someone try my bike if they
could not flatfoot it.

That's a question only a test ride can answer! :)

I've sat on it in dealerships several times, and I can't flatfoot it, at
least not with the suspension settings it usually comes with. I doubt many
people can, too--you'll probably need an inseam of 34 or 36 inches (mine's
32). I don't have to be able to flatfoot a bike to be comfortable on it,
but the owner may have a different view of the matter!

which eliminates most children under what, the age of ten..... I am pretty sure
Eve could pass your "means test". :-)

Yes, well at least you don't have to buy pants at a specialty store
If you want a big bore dual sport, and the KLR 650 seems too big, check
the Suzuki DR 650. It has a lowering kit that brings the seat height down
to about 32".
Craig
(36" inseam, and proud of it)

BJ is referring to the piglet, not the SV. Else he's secretly swapped
my SV's wheels to those off a minibike...
I would consider a test ride to someone not able to flatfoot, but
who has shown confidence on a bike of equal or higher seat height.
If others aren't willing to do the same then I would be offered
very few test rides. :)
I would love to own a DR-Z400S, but I'd probably fall over at the
first stop light on a road without raised curbing. Now where did
I put my old leather boots from the early 70s? I was much taller
back then...
