I want to try polishing a few parts on my bike.
Is the a good site that walks you through it step by step?
If not would anyone be willing to explains it to my step by step?
What will I need to do this? What is a good polish to use?

Thanks in advance,
TIm

Tim Princess Auto Has the polish compound and the buffer wheels you need you
will also need to use sand paper. What do you want to polish ? Aluminium or
Steel ? It make a big difference.

you will first have to sand them up to 1000 grit then you have to use
different compound , Princess auto will be able to show you their selection.
they go by color.

Fairly easy to do but you have to be very patient.

I would suggest you to first practice on a scrap aluminium parts. The
different buffer wheel can be expensive.

Swing arm will be a lot easier than wheels for sure...

forget the PAW buffing wheels, they shred like crazy, CTC has some better
quality wheels , I speak from experience, I've shredded a bunch of them.
Also, not to cast a pall on your shiney desires, but you should be aware
that polished aluminum requires frequent maintenance to keep looking good,
unlike chrome which only requires a quick wipe now and then. Its also a shit
load of work to get it to that chrome look point, as someone else mentioned,
1000 grit is a good final sanding stage, be prepared to start with coarser
grades though, unless you have arms of steel and unlimited free time :)
I finally got fed up with cleaning and trying to buff out oxidization and
have since started using scotchbrite for a very nice, easily maintained,
brushed alum look.

Just go to Canadain Tire and buy a tube of Autosol. That's what I always
use. It takes a lot of work but the very fine abrasive will bring up a
chrome like shine eventually.
