The main worry I think is that if the cover gets a bit dusty inside and it's
loose enough to vibrate in the wind, it will be abrasive.
Get something that is heavy guage and has a cloth interior and tie it on
tight. I had one for my relatively new Goldwing.

Honda actually made a cover in 1985 for the CB650's and mine fit perfect!
