What does it matter that a graphic designer has French or English examples
of their work. Graphic design is graphic design and writing. If the words
are what the writer wants, then a good graphic designer can design anything.

A good graphic designer can design for anyone or anything, even a
government. Maybe someone from the real world could do a better and more
economical job too. Now there is a novalty.

Exactly.
Next they'll be asking for a fax machine that can demonstrably fax English
and French documents.

I never understood this garbage either. Maybe they just want to walk by your
cubical and see that the graphic programs running are in French!!

I guess choosing various styles of layout and different colour schemes are
different when you know French. *shrugs*

Also, when you have to do an annual report in english and french, if you
don't understand french, how in the hell can you put them side by side and
do a final comparasion for quality control?

You would create it like the Federal Government does. Either two documents
that are seperate or combine the two side by side, one in the front and one
in the back, each with their own full colour covers, photos, and such.

You see I did not need to be bi-lingual. Besides the text can be marked up
by the writer. If they know what they are doing. A writer is not a graphic
designer, and a graphic designer is not a writer. If you combine the two,
you get someone not very good in either.
