The Pensions and Benefits Sector manages the government�s pension and
benefits plans. Given the fiscal impact of government pensions, effective
stewardship over pensions and benefits, and effective management of the
assets and liabilities, are critical.The Pension Financial Analysis Group
is responsible for the financial analysis and reporting on the public
service pension plans and other federal pension plans and arrangements.
This includes directing the development of financial controls to ensure the
adherence to audit and professional compliance standards; managing the
production of actuarial and financial reports, and specifically
coordinating the production process of the public service pension plan
annual report.<br>

Role and Responsibilities
Required to provide expert and authoritative advice to senior management in
order to monitor pension plans costs and sustainability. This will involve
self-directed research, reporting and direct development of reporting
standards in accordance with best practices.

Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of 10 years of federal government or agency experience in
managing pension plan financial risk, implementing pension audit
procedures, and developing pension reporting and control standards.
* Experience within the last 10 years developing and monitoring governance
structures related to financial controls and reporting standards.
* Experience within the last 10 years in principal / risk management of
large pension programs inside or outside of government.
* A graduate degree from a recognized university in accounting, risk
management, or financial management (Finance is preferred), or an
accounting, risk management, or financial management designation.
