Oracle Infrastructure Specialist

with knowledge and skills in the Oracle 10G architecture. The candidate
should have a strong background in Oracle Application Server components, a
good foundation in security and certificate technologies, and excellent
facilitation, coaching and problem solving skills.
This position reports to the IT Database Administration Manager.
Background/Context
A number of parallel IT Services initiatives are underway that include a
high availability infrastructure and J2EE applications development. New
Oracle 10G mid-tier components are being implemented such as Dataguard, OID,
Oracle Forms/Reports and J2EE containers. This has resulted in an increase
in the number of new technologies for DBA staff to implement and support
while continuing to support existing Oracle 8i applications and IBM DB2.
Having a consultant onsite with solid technical expertise in the new
components is critical for DBA staff to manage a growing number of Oracle
environments and meet competing deadlines for paralell ITS initiatives.
Deliverables
" Knowledge transfer, consultation and hands-on technical support
to DBA staff on new Oracle 10G architecture components that are being
implemented
" Oracle Internet Directory (OID)
" Application Server
o Oracle Forms and Reports
o Designer
o BPEL
" Dataguard (Standby Database)
" Oracle Grid Control
Specific work assignments on a priority basis:
" Architecture Design for Oracle 10G Upgrade (ACEEE_07)
" Dataguard implementation for (BSRP)
" Oracle Grid Control implementation (Oracle Technical Support)
Required Skill Set
" 4 years as an Oracle Operational DBA on Oracle 9i on Sun Solaris
or above, installing and patching environments.
" 2 years working with Oracle Application Server 9i on Sun Solaris
or above, installing and patching environments
" 1 year experience configuring and deploying J2EE applications
using Oracle's Application Server
" 2 years of PL/SQL.
