Introduction:
ott.config was created by the Ottawa News Administrators Group (ONAG) as
a place for discussions concerning issues related to the ott.* hierarchy
of newsgroups. Specifically, messages proposing, or discussing the
proposal, to create, delete or split a newsgroup are appropriate to this
group. All ONAG control messages will be posted to this group as a means
of propegation. Also, ott.* charters and FAQ's may be posted in this group.

Cross-posting policy:
Proposals, newsgroup charters, FAQs, ONAG control message and ONAG
informational messages may be crossposted between ott.config and other
ott.* groups and appropriate ncf.* groups.
Proposals for local versions of existing regional, national, or
international newsgroups may be crossposted to the relevant existing
newsgroups.
Messages discussing a proposal should only appear in ott.config. (See the
Followup-to's section below for specifics.)

Followup-to's:
Newsgroup proposals may be crossposted to relavent newsgroups, but they
must have the Followup-to: header set to ott.config so that the other
groups will not be spammed by discussions arising from the proposal.

Proposal discussions:
The bulk of messages in ott.config will likely be related to proposals to
change the ott.* hierarchy. These discussion topics may include, but are
not necessarily limited to:
* creation of new ott.* groups
* removal of existing ott.* groups
* spliting existing newsgroups
* renaming groups
* charter modifications

Commercial messages:
Messages which are deemed "commercial" will be cancelled, regardless of
crossposting and/or Followup-to: headers. (See ott.business.ads charter
for commercial posting rules in the ott.* hierarchy.)
