[otrs] Multiple customer company backends

Hi,

I know that OTRS supports mutiple backends for Customer Users (mapping them on Config.pm). Is this valid also for Customer Company?

So to speak, can I put into Config.pm

$Self->{CustomerCompany} = {

        Params => {

......

and

$Self->{CustomerCompany1} = {

        Params => {

.....

etc. etc.?

Thanks a lot Martin, I'd like to extend the question a bit while I'm configuring the second backend for the Companies.

Can I use two different company backends but just one Customer User? In other words, since the other backend I'd like to use does not contain informations on people but only on companies, I'd like to maintain users on the OTRS DB while reading company informations on the external DB (which is updated automatically from other sources and it is generally updated more often than OTRS one).

Is it possible an approach like this?

I can answer to my own question with a yes.

It is possible to use internal Customer Users with an external Customer Company DB. The only "problem" i noticed is that when you want to edit the company user, otrs won't show the customer company already selected in the selection list and you have to select it again. Any other thing works perfectly.

Hi Stefano,

yes, also this should work. The connection between CustomerUsers and Customer(Companie)s is via the CustomerID.
