If you have lost or found an Apple product, contact your local law-enforcement agency to report it. You can also find a list of serial numbers associated with your Apple ID and get information about using Find My iPhone for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.

The 'My Number' in All Contacts is wrong. It shows the SIM card's original number but I transfered my own number to this SIM from day one. I tried going into Settings/Phone/My Number but it appears that is locked and I cannot change it. Restart the phone and re-inserting the SIM card does not appear to be solving the problem. Any further thoughts?

Had the same problem for my iPhone 5S on lycamobile uk as I just transferred my old number to new sim card. Switched off iMessage, facetime, log out of app store, log out of icloud and did a "reset all settings" in the settings > general > reset > reset all settings. Now my old number is showing correctly without any changes made to my apps except that I need to log back in to my apple account for imessage, facetime etc.

To solve the part with wrong mynumber, it helped to change icloud and iphone info in my contact to e-mail and cell, then I changed the contact under Settings-> Contacts -> my info to some random contact and then back to mine. I had to shut down contacts in task manager between theese actions to refresh it, but you will see if you need to so that as well.

Hiya, Ive tried what was suggested and although my imessage works and facetime work and my actual number is also displayed on each of these, the number shown on the 'Phone' still remains as the old pre-ported number.

To change your number, go to settings, phone and then go toy number to change it manually. I tried disabling my messages etc but that didn't work and i took out my sim card. I was going to 3 to resolve it but found it out for myself for my Iphone 4. Marvellous ;)

I have this message on my iPhone & for several days I cannot get my number to associate with my phone. About a month ago I swapped networks & got a temporary number for a few hours whilst my old number ported over. It pitted fine & I receive texts & calls on this number. This is the number on my Apple ID.

For Messages, choose Messages > Settings, then click iMessage. For FaceTime, choose FaceTime > Preferences, then click General. Turn your phone number on or off: To turn on your phone number, select it and your Apple ID in the list.

I've spent ages trying a variety of remedies for exactly this issue: switch the phone off and on, take the SIM in and out, send an SMS, contact network provider, stand with one leg in a bucket of tepid water, and all possible permutations of these.

Thank you so much, I have spent way too much time on this not knowing who to call I called my new provider and she said everything went good on her end so that was not very helpful she had no recommendations. And as the days counted down I became more concerned and all I had to do was exactly what you did. Thank you for sharing.

I have an iPhone XS Max. It is now February of 2019. I cannot remove this message from texts with non-iPhone users. I have done everything that is suggested online, but it still remains. I am up-to-date with my software, operating on iOS 12.1.4.

I FIXED IT!!! I found a thread online and followed it step by step. I did restart my iPhone between the steps in Image 1 and Image 2. And then I deleted the thread that was having the problem. But now there is NO MORE line between each reply.

I am doing nothing but messaging via text with my son who is on a Galaxy. I don't know what on earth I can be doing incorrectly. I have his contact set up with one number. I tried to set it up with the same number twice to see if that would change anything. It didn't.

I don't have two lines. I looked it up according to the article. I only have one. So I am lost as to what to do. Guess I'll call and speak to one of Apple's advisers. I am just being told I'm doing "something wrong," but there is no suggestion as to what to try or how to fix it being offered.

I think it's like when your Internet needs to be reset at home. The order in which you shut down and restart your modem and router makes a difference. So I think you had to do things to fix this, too, in the correct order. And yes, deleting that entire text thread and restarting the phone had to help.

To solve this problem is easy, you just need to change the number on your iphone settings, Settings > phone > my number and make sure the correct number is showing there. Follow this with synronising to your Apple account and you will have the correct number showing. If you have any problems changing the number in the settings leave imessage , Facetime switched off, restart the device don't enable imessage or Facetime until the number is correct in the settings.

I moved to a different state with my iphone 12 pro max and bought an Apple watch in my new state and it has a number local to where I now live. Can I theoretically give my watch number to people locally to contact me? For example, if they call the number assigned to my watch, will it forward to my phone?

When you moved to another state, did you change cellular carriers? When you activated this Apple Watch, how did you activate the cellular? It should have been activated with your phone, and while it gets a number, it is not the number used to call you. The number the carrier gives it is for accounting purposes only and it should be forwarding to your iPhone and using that number.

I stayed with the same carrier. The reason I'm asking is .. there is one number difference between area code from previous state and current state. People think Ive written my phone number incorrectly and call the current state's area code even though I'm using my previous states area code (did not change my phone number). So I wanted to use the phone number associated with my watch (since it has current area code) hoping it would forward to my current phone number.. does this make sense.

I'm sorry, but I'm getting confused here. When you move from state to state with a cell phone, you do not have to change numbers, because it does really matter any longer about area codes and being "local" numbers. My kids have their phone numbers they got when they got their phones and they are grown now and live in different states and still have their numbers assigned when they got their phones here. You didn't answer as to why your Watch was activated with a separate number? Was that a requirement when you purchased the Watch?

Sorry, it is confusing. No, I didn't change numbers BUT, area code from Kansas is 316 - area code Louisiana is 318... can you imagine attempting to get a job and everyone thinking your number is wrong and calling you with the wrong area code? I almost missed a job because of that. I have the same number but yes, the phone required a number and since I'm in Louisiana of course they assigned a 318 area code to it. It is synced? with my iphone but I just wondered if I could give the local number assigned to the watch out as a number and it be forwarded to my Iphone number.

Are you perhaps with AT&T? The phone number assigned to your Watch is for billing purposes and only works for calls on some carriers, AT&T being one of them. If you give that number out and people call you it will only ring to your watch, not your iPhone and that is not the expected procedure for the Watch. You just give out your iPhone number and incoming phone calls will ring on both your iPhone and your watch. If you make a phone call from your watch it will use your iPhone phone number.

I have no longer a paid developer account and after upgrading to iPhone 8+ I tried to install my app and XCODE posts the following error: " Code Signing Error: Your development team has reached the maximum number of registered iPhone devices."

You can't get there from here because (a) you can't access the required section in the Member Center without a paid acccount, and (b) dev support is predicated on having a paid account as well (and there wouldn't be much point to a limit if you could just send an email to have it lifted...).

Best to pony up and renew your paid account, or... create another apple ID you can throw at using free provisioning instead, I think, but it's not clear if your devices will be sniffed out as part of that process or not.

See this thread [how i can have free Developer Program ] with an already moderated link that explains Xcode's free provisioning process (with screenshots) - be sure to read all the way thru it and any updates at the bottom. Good luck.

Any updates? I had a paid account many years ago. i just tried using the same account (now free account) to sideload apps to my personal device for testing and im getting the same error. Contacted Apple to see if they could assist.

I have an iPhone and a iPad they both share the same phone number for iMessage and FaceTime. The iPad has its own phone number, can anyone tell me how to activate that number. That I can use it for iMessage and FaceTime.

Hi. I have close to this same problem. So my mom got my sister a ipad, but all my moms texts go to my sisters ipad, so my mom got her a phone number for her iPad. As I looked through the comments on the question I can see that you can't have a phone number on iPad. Same thing with MY macbook because my mom sets up everything with her Apple ID. Can we all have a family sharing but get different texts and not all use the same phone number?? (my moms phone number). Thanks.
