After the latest Sims 4 update (or possibly before that I suppose; I hadn't played in a while), some of my married Sims' last names were changed to match their spouse. I hadn't changed them when they got married, and didn't want them changed, and up till now that was fine! But now for instance Mary Jones, married to Tom Smith, has become Mary Smith - but their kids are still Joneses, so it didn't affect everyone.
I have edited the affected names in 'manage households', turned on cas.fulledit and changed it there, edited the Sims...it works for one session but as soon as I load the game again they've reverted back. I edit, save, edit, save - it's not sticking permanently. Am I missing some way to fix this? What's going on?
You might also need to go into "MCCC Settings / Relationship Settings / Relationship Culling" and set that to MC Cleaner Relationship Culling. Not sure about that. If you disable that, it might not do ANY relationship story progression. I would make sure this setting is ON and Sync Married Names is OFF.
You are splendid, thanks so much! I got MCCC before the update and hadn't noticed the change apparently, so thought it was the game rather than the mod. It does some weird things, but I think I'm getting things back where they should be. Thanks for your help!
I've been noticing MCCC's been having some conflicts lately with a number of mods. They won't help on the discord and finding the conflicts is SUPER time consuming. I currently noticed a conflict with pregnancy in MCCC and another mod. I've been trying to find the conflict for almost a year and haven't found it yet.
If you change the setting, and it either doesn't change, or changes and you leave and go back in and it's back to what it was before... It's a conflict.
All I can say is... good luck finding it.
Simple put, Name my Sim is a Sim Name Generator. I am been playing The Sims for over a decade now and each time I play I have the same problem and that is trying to come up with good names for my Sims, especially when they have children. This has especially been the case since I started playing the newest version of The Sims. I can just never seem to come up with a good name when one of my Sims has a kid. Simply put, this website is a Sim Name Generator.
So that is when I came up with the idea to create a program that would help me. I created a database that includes tens of thousands of names. Now any time I am creating a new SIM family or I have SIM children I can use this program to help me come up with some great names. Then I put them all together here at Name My Sim so that everyone could enjoy it and maybe make use of it.
The final joint prim name should be unique, the only way to resolve this is to edit the referenced file directly to change the joint names. (because you cannot rename prims on a reference as that would be a structural change)

I am a long time Virgin broadband customer.
My wife is a long time Virgin Mobile customer, but early this month (July) she was switched to O2. It is now more than 14 days later.
The switch has all gone ok, and she has logged in to MyO2, but there is no sign of the O2 benefits, either in my VM account, or in her O2 account.
The accounts have the exact same address, but the VM one is in my name, and the O2 one is in her name.
When she goes to try to activate Volt benefits, it says she can't, either because they have already been activated (they have not) or because we can't get Virgin in our area (we can and have).
Is there any easy way to activate the Volt benefits without my wife having to call 202?
Just an update to say the final O2 SIM on my wife's account got its Volt benefits (double data) today.
Although we switched in early July, my wife didn't log in to the My O2 website until late July, so I guess the clock didn't start ticking until then.
And at first she was seeing the "Have already activated or can't activate" misleading message, but after a week or so, in early August, that finally changed to a message where she could click to activate Volt benefits. The benefits still didn't activate immediately, but took another week or so, until around the 20th August, when 2 of the SIMs got Volt benefits, and our VM broadband went up a speed level.
But the final SIM, which is on the same account, but a different billing cycle, still didn't have Volt benefits, so then my wife clicked on the banner to activate them for that number, and today that one also has doubled the data.
The good news was that this was all possible without having to call 202.
But it too a lot longer than 10-14 days.
Possibly having different names on the O2 and VM accounts didn't help.
My advice to anyone else would be:
1) Log in to the My O2 portal as soon as you get an O2 account.
2) Activate the benefits on any and all SIMs as soon as possible.
3) If the account shows the "Have already activated or can't activate" message, but Volt benefits have not been activated, keep checking back every few days. In our experience it did appear after a week or two.
Although the account switched from Virgin Mobile to O2 early July (more than 14 days ago), today is the first time she logged in to MyO2 (the account details went to my son's SIM rather than my wife's - just random which switched from VMob to O2 first, I think).
Please Note: This mod is compatible with all game configurations for changing first names. However, you will need the Ultimate Collection or any one of the following expansion packs to change last names: Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Freetime.
